Week #1 Discussion

Hi Friends!!

Wow, Tuesday night's discussion was amazing! Y'all are already digging in and questioning things that we aren't going to study for another couple of weeks. That is so great! I am so in awe of how involved you want to be in this study. You each had so much to contribute. I'm excited about our future discussions!

I truly hope this second week of homework is going well! It's getting very exciting and interesting now that we are digging deeper into Genesis 1.

I have a confession...I Tivo The View. Yes, I know it's dorky, but sometimes it's how I get my news when I don't have time to watch other things. Well, Tuesday morning's discussion on The View was about Creation! I couldn't believe that the day we were studying it, God reminded me through the show that there are SO many people that don't believe the Truth like we do. It was a heated discussion which was a little hard to listen to. I will tell you that 3 of the 5 women do NOT believe that Creation happened like the Bible said. One of the women doesn't believe in God. One believes that Creation happened by God, but that the Bible is just a figurative story. And one believed also that it happened the way the Bible says, but not in 7 days. This is why were are studying Genesis! I wish I could get the clip of it to show y'all.

Can't wait to see you Tuesday night!

Week #1

Hi Bible Study Warriors!!!

How has your first week of homework been? I can't wait to hear all that you have gleaned from it! It's going to be an exciting night tomorrow.

Julie has submitted our first discussion question in the comments! Make sure you read it so we can discuss! Thanks Julie! I can't wait to talk more about it! And the movie you mentioned sounds incredible. I will have to rent it. Thanks for the info.

Please let me know if you had any questions about your homework or the way Precepts works.

Y'all are an amazing group of women. I can't wait to study Genesis chapters 1-5 with you.

Love,

Last Night

Thank you so much for coming last night! I am so excited about the group we have. I can't stop telling people about y'all. We are going to have some fun. Each of you are going to be able to contribute in great ways and we are going to tackle this thing together. I love the intimacy of our group.

Please let me know if you have any questions as you embark on your first week of homework, especially you first timers. I know this is cliche, but there is no stupid question.

Thanks Cassi for your comment! I wanted to share with you real quickly the two challenges I presented last night that might help balance your time a little. We definitely talked some about how we are each might be struggling with the stage in our lives, rather that be babies, college, planning a wedding, job stuff, to find enough time to complete the amount of homework that Kay Arthur has placed before us.

The first challenge or goal is to try to get up earlier than we normally would to do the homework. For me, that really is the only way I can get it done. I've never gotten up early in my life to do my quiet time and I've always struggled, until this summer when I realized that was the only time for me. But that could be night time for somebody else. We just need to try to find the balance to get it all done.

The second challenge is to memorize the first chapter of Genesis. The study focuses 90% of it on that chapter. I think it would be highly beneficial for many reasons for us to commit this Word to memory. I have a memorization schedule I'll give you next week. Plus some fancy schmanzy flash cards. :-)

Love y'all and I will be praying for you this week.

Girls, This is our official blog!!!

The purpose of this blog is to add community to our Bible study group. I want this blog to be a source of encouragement during the hard days, a place to get our questions answered and a way for us to know how we can pray for each other.

It makes me so happy to know that we are in this study together. In the words of our powerful God, it's gonna be good! Okay, maybe that was paraphrased just a little.

So please leave a comment and let me know that you were here. Let us know how we can be praying. I would love for us to be confident in knowing that we are praying for each other each week.

Also, if you have any questions about the study, leave it in the comment section and we can help each other answer it at our next weekly gathering.

Or, if you just want to talk about whatever, we can do that too.

It's going to be a great 6 weeks together!!!

Love,
Janelle
